What Is a Direct View LED Display?

A Direct View LED display is a large screen built from millions of tiny LED lights. Each light cluster makes its own color and brightness. The screen has no backlight and no glass layers.

This is the key difference between dvLED and a regular TV. A standard TV shines a backlight through a layer of liquid crystal glass to create an image. A dvLED screen does not do this. Each pixel emits its own light directly toward the viewer.
