Outdoor Sound System

Your Music Doesn’t Have To Stop At The Back Door

Home audio systems are no longer confined within the walls of the home itself. Integrated system design has extended outside, giving homeowners an additional zone to home listening options. Over the past several years, popularity of outdoor sound systems has grown immensely. Today, people want to take their music outside. And families, in particular, want the ability to create outdoor movie theaters right in their own backyard.

That said, the great outdoors presents a different listening environment than your typical room. Inside your home, there are walls to reflect and contain sound. Outside, of course, it’s wide open, and there are usually background noises like wind, traffic, or barking dogs. And using Bluetooth speakers will not help you overcome the acoustical challenges you’ll find outdoors.

Great sound shouldn’t come with dead spots. Today, homeowners want the same entertainment experience for their outdoor living space that they’re accustomed to inside their home. A properly designed and installed outdoor sound system delivers loud, even sound that won’t disturb the neighbors.

Why You Don’t Want To Use Bluetooth Speakers

A number of things impact the way music sounds, but the quality of the playback equipment is one of the biggest factors that influence the sound. Today most music is saved as a digital file on our phones or computers. This results in music that is compressed. Compression is great for consuming less memory on your smartphone but bad when it comes to your listening experience. That’s because compression actually removes portions of your music. It’s still the same song, but some of the detail is missing. And when you use a Bluetooth speaker to play your compressed music stored on your phone, it can make your music sound harsh, especially at high volumes. No matter how good the quality of your music content, Bluetooth speakers cannot accurately reproduce the sound or dynamic range needed to play the song the way the artist intended.

The human ear has a dynamic range of about 120 dB, but low-quality audio equipment may be able to reproduce a range of only 90 dB or below, which makes the music sound flat. Low dynamic range is the equivalent of removing color from any of your photos. And no matter how high the quality of the content, some electronics just aren’t built to deliver full dynamic range. On the other hand, equipment with high dynamic range makes music sound more true to life, even if it’s compressed. Episode’s products retain the beauty and artistic quality of the original music while evenly distributing three hundred sixty degrees of coverage to deliver remarkable sound in every climate.
